To regular readers of my blog it will be a surprise to read this blogpost in English but there's a reason for that.
Ania & Jean - Michel are an international couple. Ania is of origin from Poland while Jean-Michel is from Columbia. So we had a Spanish speaking broom and a Polish speaking bride. Some members spoke English as well, others spoke quite well French, some Flemish among the invited, even Kazahstan was present but as well there were guests invited who didn't speak anything but there mothertongue. I can assure you it was a funny and interesting day and night . Lucky me to speak all of the languages except Polish but with my knowledge of Croatian i was able to catch the main subjects.
Bride and mother were very nervous friday. I never saw a mum shaking like the mama of Ania. Closing the dress was impossible because of the trembling hands so Michael, the brother of Ania had to come in and help out to get the bride dressed. And what a dress... Ania was what you call a stunning bride. Romantic with a modern flair...
Ania & Jean-Michel live in Damme, right in the centre (which is very big ) so they didn't need a car cause the city hall was like 10 steps away. The red carpet straight from the house to the city hall, it doesn't happen every day.
Jean - Michel was waiting his bride just in front of the city hall and I think he said like 20 times - while Ania was walking towards him - "que linda , she's so beautiful, très jolie, qu'elle est jolie..." And he couldn't be more right.
Once arrived at the city hall, it was very crowded. I honestly have to say, I never saw so many people attending to a civil wedding. Even inside the city hall, everyone came along to be witness - all dressed up already for the evening party at the restaurant Bruegel. Go and eat oysters in champagnemousse with a bit of cheese in the oven over there cause they were like really soooooo goood. The guacamole/pesto with bread home prepared... I truely licked my fingers and I'm sure it won't take long before we go there on a dinner.
Many nice moments followed one after another, touching moments, relaxed moments, funny moments... it was just a perfect day!! The weather was with us the moments we needed it so couldn't have been better!
It was all my pleasure to be your photographer on your wedding day and I had a very nice day with both of you and your family. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness. If you ever decide to get married again with each other, I will be there .
Enjoy a first small selection of the photos, I know how crazy you are about seeing many many photos very soon so here there are a few already.

Traditions enough which I had no idea of but this was one of them: the couple gets the blessing from the parents just before they get married.

Let's be honest: the look in their eyes wins the first prize for looking so much in love with each other !

This is one of my favourites of the day... so tender

When the just married enter the restaurant, the mother of the bride gives salt and bread to the young married.
They had to put some salt on the bread and give it to each other to eat. It stands foor prosperety and health in life.

After drinking the glass of champagne, they had to break the glasses for luck in life. So they did, but here the glasses were still full .

Do we notice a runaway bride here...
i love the atmosphere in following photo.

That's it for now, more to come later of course!!
